Lost Soul Ultra

Set against the rugged beauty of Alberta's Oldman River valley, near Lethbridge, this endurance race celebrates both natural splendor and historical significance. Nestled on the ancestral lands of the Blackfoot people, with trails that trace close to a pivotal battle between the Blackfoot and Cree tribes, runners traverse 51 kilometers in one lap, ascending approximately 4,500 feet across fourteen hills ranging from 50-80 meters each.
Competitors can choose among three events: a grueling 100-mile race with a 33-hour cutoff for completing three laps plus an extra loop of nine kilometers; a challenging 100-kilometer event, finishing in under 21 hours after two full laps; or the more manageable but still demanding 50-kilometer course completed within eleven hours. All longer races qualify participants for the prestigious Western States Endurance Run.
The race is renowned not only for its scenic and challenging terrain but also for its exceptional aid stations, earning it a reputation as "the toughest race on the prairies." Upon crossing the finish line, runners are awarded a unique etched rock to commemorate their achievement. With an entry age limit of 18 years or older, this event invites seasoned endurance athletes seeking both physical and spiritual challenges along its historic trails.
