About the Event

The Moose Mountain Trail Races (MMTR), organized by Lewiston Ultra Events, is a cherished tradition steeped in over three decades of trail running history. This iconic race takes place within the Kananaskis Country park system and offers runners four challenging distances: 16KM, 29KM, 42KM, and 50KM. Starting and finishing at West Bragg Creek recreational day-use area, participants will traverse an extensive network of over 150 kilometers of meticulously crafted trails that wind through Alberta's rolling prairie into the majestic foothills.
The course features a diverse landscape with forested single-track paths that weave around pristine lakes and cross rugged terrain. At its heart lies Moose Mountain, standing tall at 8,000 feet, providing an awe-inspiring backdrop for runners as they push their limits on this challenging yet rewarding route. The race is more than just a competition; it's a celebration of community spirit where every runner is cheered on by enthusiastic supporters.
For those looking to experience the magic firsthand, registration fees are set at $160 CDN (+GST & UltraSignup fee). Bib transfers can be arranged until August 9, 2027, for a small administration charge. Once race day arrives—this year scheduled for August 21, 2027—the event promises to deliver an unforgettable journey through some of Alberta's most stunning natural scenery.
