The Chiggy Ultra 2027

The Chiggy Ultra 2027 invites runners to tackle the rugged and breathtaking terrain of Cape Chignecto Provincial Park. Known affectionately as "Chiggy," this park offers some of the most challenging vertical climbs and technical trails in Eastern Canada, with each loop boasting an impressive elevation gain of over 2188 meters.
Participants can choose from three distinct challenges: a single-loop adventure covering approximately 51 kilometers with two aid stations and one self-service hydration station; a grueling double-loop course that tests the limits of endurance and dedication; or the ultimate test, the triple-loop event stretching well beyond 100 miles. Each loop requires runners to return to the start/finish line for check-in before continuing.
The race starts early on Saturday morning with staggered times: one loop at 7 AM, two loops starting at midnight, and three loops also beginning at midnight. The course winds through McGahey Canyon and around Cape Chignecto, featuring steep climbs, technical single-track trails, and plenty of mud. Runners will experience stunning coastal views and rugged wilderness as they push their limits.
Registration is final; refunds or deferrals are not available, but bib transfers up to September 24th allow participants flexibility in planning. Consider purchasing insurance at checkout for added peace of mind.
Finishers who complete the triple-loop challenge earn a coveted buckle, with limited designs available exclusively for this year’s event. For more detailed information and FAQs, visit the official Chiggy Ultra blog website.
