Reopening the Galloping Grind for the 2027 season, this race promises an exhilarating dusk run through a vibrant course. Participants should collect their race numbers from 18:00hrs at the start venue and prepare to take off at precisely 18:30. The predominantly anti-clockwise route winds its way around a challenging circuit designed for both speed and endurance, with twists that demand runners' full attention. Given the dusk setting, organizers recommend wearing high-visibility clothing and carrying headtorches for optimal visibility. Mobile phones equipped with ICE (In Case of Emergency) information are mandatory. Parking is limited on-site, so car-sharing or cycling to the event is highly encouraged. Marshals will direct participants who choose to drive in a safe manner. Ahead of race day, runners will receive an email containing their start list, including crucial details such as maps and route narratives that enhance navigation during the run. Race numbers must be worn prominently on the front throughout the course for accurate timing purposes. The event organizers may use manual timing methods, so ensuring your number is visible at all times helps secure a recorded time. The race route can be previewed via Strava (https://www.strava.com/routes/3396568523439537612), offering runners an opportunity to familiarize themselves with the terrain and plan their strategy accordingly. Upon crossing the finish line, participants are invited to collect a hot chocolate or tea along with homemade cakes from Dom’s horsebox. This hearty treat awaits once your time is recorded by either tail joggers sweeping the course or at the designated finish line area. Results will be uploaded to the race website within 48 hours of completion for all competitors to review and celebrate their achievements. The current course records stand at an impressive 48 minutes and 20 seconds set by Jackie STREETON in 2025, followed closely by Darren BERWICK's performance in 2026. Join us as we kick off the new season with a memorable race experience under the twilight sky!
