About the Event

Sandman 50 is an exhilarating night-time running adventure that takes place along the stunning coastline from Old Dunsborough boat ramp to Busselton Jetty and back. The race covers a total distance of 50 kilometers, with runners navigating through soft sand while staying close to the water's edge for most of the course.
Scheduled to start at 2:00 AM on Saturday, January 23, 2027, participants will embark on their journey under the cover of darkness. The race offers a unique experience as it spans from late Friday night through early Sunday morning, providing runners with an unforgettable encounter with nature's nocturnal beauty.
Solo entrants can enjoy this challenging yet rewarding course individually, while relay teams consisting of two members each tackle 25 kilometers before handing over to their partner at Busselton Jetty. The entry fee for solo competitors is $70 (with a discounted rate of $60 for AUTRA members), and the cost for relay teams is set at $95.
For those participating in relay format, both team members must register separately using the Team Access Code provided by their captain when creating the team registration. This code ensures seamless coordination between teammates leading up to race day.
In case of withdrawal more than 14 days before the event, a full refund minus a $25 administration fee will be issued; however, no refunds are available for cancellations within two weeks of the scheduled start date. Additionally, tee shirt purchases cannot be refunded or exchanged if participants withdraw from the competition prior to race day.
With its unique timing and scenic route, Sandman 50 promises an unforgettable adventure through some of Western Australia's most picturesque coastal landscapes.
Participants should prepare for a challenging yet rewarding journey that tests endurance while offering breathtaking views under starlit skies.
