About the Event

Welcome to the Autumn Clinic organized by AV Horror from Sneek, designed specifically to prepare runners for either the Berenloop (Terschelling) on November 1, 2026 or the Gaasterlân Run on December 19, 2026. This comprehensive program includes track training sessions and long-distance runs.
Track training takes place every Wednesday at 7:15 PM at AV Horror's athletics track, while weekly long-distance runs start at either the club’s canteen or other designated locations on Sundays at 9 AM. Participants have the option to join only the long-distance runs if they prefer, and will receive a schedule for self-guided training sessions in between clinic dates.
Each week, you can bring your own sports drinks and snacks along with you during these runs; support staff positioned approximately every five kilometers are available to assist runners as needed. If the long-distance runs are part of events organized by other clubs, participants may not have the option to carry their own supplies, depending on what those organizers provide.
It is mandatory for each participant to join or arrange at least one guidance session during the clinic period. As the distance covered in weekly runs increases over time, a basic fitness level is expected from all runners starting out. Those looking to train specifically for half-marathons should be able to comfortably complete a 10-kilometer run (or longer) before beginning their training with this program.
The Autumn Clinic kicks off on Sunday, August 16, 2026, marking the start of an intensive preparation period leading up to your chosen event. You will receive detailed training schedules and weekly updates via email throughout the clinic’s duration. Additionally, a mobile app group is created for participants who wish to stay connected with fellow runners during this preparatory phase.
Please note that registration for the Autumn Clinic does not include entry into either of these events; separate registrations are required for participation in the Berenloop or Gaasterlân Run on their respective dates.
