Mudskipper Swimrun Nanaimo and the Nanaimo Open Water Swim and Trail Run

Mudskipper Events returns for its third annual Mudskipper SwimRun Nanaimo on August 8, 2027, promising an exhilarating blend of open water swimming and trail running around Westwood Lake. Participants can choose between the challenging 20K individual swimrun championship or the scenic 10K trail run along the lake's picturesque paths.
The event kicks off with a variety of open-water swims in distances ranging from 1 to 5 kilometers, offering swimmers of all levels an opportunity to test their skills. The main attraction is the Mudskipper B.C. Individual Swimrun Championships, where competitors will navigate through both water and rugged terrain around Westwood Lake.
The 20K course features a mix of lake swims and trail runs, challenging athletes with varied conditions that highlight Nanaimo's natural beauty. Meanwhile, runners can enjoy the serene surroundings during the 10K Trail Run, which winds through scenic trails and offers stunning views of the lake.
Organized by Canaqua Sports, this event is sanctioned by Triathlon British Columbia (TriBC), ensuring a high standard of competition and safety for all participants.
