2027 Westwood Lake Triathlon

About the Event

Mark your calendars for the highly anticipated 10th Annual Westwood Lake Triathlon on May 16, 2027. Set against the picturesque backdrop of Westwood Lake Park in Nanaimo, this year’s edition promises to be a standout event for triathletes from across British Columbia and beyond.
The swim leg kicks off with a refreshing dip into the serene waters of Westwood Lake, followed by an effortless transition right on site at the parking lot. Cyclists then face Canada's most honest bike course, rolling westward through East Wellington past Brannen Lake before looping back to Westwood Lake Park for both Olympic and Standard distances.
The run leg takes athletes around the hard-packed trail that encircles the lake, offering stunning views of the surrounding landscape. Standard distance participants complete two loops, while Olympic distance competitors enjoy one lap before crossing the finish line at the main beach area where friends and family cheer them on.
Nanaimo's central location makes it easy to reach from nearby cities like Victoria (90 minutes away) or Vancouver via scenic ferry rides. The event offers race package pickup options both Saturday, May 15th, and Sunday morning before the start of the race.
All participants must have valid insurance coverage through Triathlon BC membership for race day. Early registration is recommended to secure your preferred event shirt size as well. Don't miss out on this unforgettable experience at Westwood Lake Park!
