Set amidst the stunning natural beauty of Squamish, British Columbia, the April Grit Run offers an unforgettable trail experience for runners and hikers alike. On April 3, 2027, participants can choose from various distances including a Kids event at 3 km, a Sport run or hike covering 9.1 kilometers, and an Enduro option spanning approximately 12.5 kilometers. The most challenging route is the Grit Run, which will be announced closer to race day but typically ranges between 18-21 kilometers.
The terrain varies from technical single-track trails to punchy climbs and flowy downhill sections that keep runners engaged throughout their journey. Race maps and detailed trail information are available online for participants to review before race day. The event kicks off early Saturday morning with continuous shuttles from Brackendale Elementary School lot and Don Ross Middle School, ensuring a smooth start.
Packet pickup begins on Friday at Capra in Squamish, allowing runners ample time to prepare. On the morning of April 3rd, participants can pick up their packets until 8:05 AM before starting times for different categories begin shortly after. The atmosphere is lively with families enjoying the Kids Timed Event and Children's Challenge event free of charge.
Post-race festivities include complimentary food and beverages in the race compound from 9:30 a.m., providing runners an opportunity to refuel and celebrate their achievements. Shuttles will continuously run from the finish line back to Brackendale Elementary School and Don Ross Middle School starting at 10:30 AM, ensuring easy access for all participants.
Awards are presented throughout the morning as soon as the top three competitors in each category cross the finish line, recognizing their hard-earned accomplishments.
