The Demi-Marathon de L'Acadie, set to run through Tracadie-Sheila, New Brunswick on March 7, 2027, offers runners an iconic race experience. The course features two loops starting and finishing at the Piscine S.A. Dionne, a change from its original route due to the closure of the Snowball Bridge.
This event includes both half marathon (21.1 km) and 10.55-kilometer distances, with participants for each distance lining up together at 10 am. Runners expecting to take more than two hours and twenty minutes can opt for an early start at 9 am, which helps volunteers manage the race smoothly.
The half-marathon course is designed to be run twice by full-distance competitors while those in the shorter event complete it once. This setup provides a versatile training opportunity, allowing runners to prepare for both longer races and upcoming 10-kilometer events.
Race organizers also offer virtual options for both distances, giving participants flexibility to compete on their own terms at any location of choice before submitting results by Sunday evening.
Medals are awarded to the top three overall finishers as well as the first three females in each distance category. These awards will be presented after the race concludes around noon at Piscine S.A. Dionne, where a meal is served to all participants.
