470e Demi-marathon de l'Acadie

The 470e Demi-Marathon de L'Acadie, set for December 6, 2026, invites runners to experience a unique course that winds through the charming town of Tracadie-Sheila. This race, which features both half marathon and 10.55 km distances, starts at Piscine S.A. Dionne on Rue Hall.
Originally planned from St-Isidore to Tracadie, the route was revised due to the closure of Snowball Bridge, resulting in a two-loop course that begins and ends at the same picturesque venue. The half marathon consists of twice this loop, while participants in the shorter 10.55 km race complete it once.
For runners expecting longer completion times—over two hours twenty minutes—an early start is available at 9 AM to ease volunteer workload and facilitate earlier medal distribution by noon. Registration for both distances begins simultaneously at 10 AM.
In a unique twist, organizers have introduced a virtual option that allows participants to run the course of their choice as soon as they register. Results must be submitted with proof via selfie before race day’s conclusion.
The event promises scenic routes and warm community support, culminating in medal presentations for top finishers on the second floor of Piscine S.A. Dionne, followed by a celebratory meal. With an age requirement of 16 years for half marathon runners and 14 for those tackling the shorter distance, this race offers something special for athletes at various stages of their running journey.
Join the Demi-Marathon de L'Acadie to embrace its iconic status in Atlantic Canada’s racing calendar, where tradition meets innovation.
