Embark on an extraordinary endurance challenge at Thetford Forest, where the renowned Backyard route awaits. This non-stop timed run offers solo participants and teams of up to four runners the unique opportunity to push their limits over 6-hour, 12-hour, or even a grueling 24-hour period.
The event unfolds on July 10, 2027, with registration opening at 8:00 AM. A race brief is scheduled for 11:30 AM before the start time of noon. Participants can run as many laps as they wish within their designated timeframe, but only complete laps are counted towards their total distance.
The route itself is a flat and fast scenic mix of fire roads and forest trails in Thetford Forest’s Backyard area, perfect for maintaining steady progress throughout your chosen duration. Whether you're tackling the 6-hour sprint or aiming to break records over 24 hours, this event offers an unparalleled setting to test your endurance.
Onsite camping is provided free of charge on Saturday night, allowing participants and their crews a place to rest between laps. A basic food tent will be available throughout the race for hot and cold drinks as well as snacks, while vendors at nearby High Lodge offer additional options.
Facilities include portable toilets near the event area with extra facilities just a short walk away at High Lodge. Participants are reminded that there is no power supply on site; therefore, it's essential to bring power banks or rely on charging stations set up for runners without crew support.
Crews and supporters can assist but must adhere to rules prohibiting them from being present on the course during the race itself. Teams may use a gazebo in the camping area while solo runners are welcome with small tents.
Entry prices vary based on category:
- 6-hour event: £40 for solos, £35 per person for pairs, and £30 each for teams.
- 12-hour event: £50 for solos, £45 per person for pairs, and £40 each for teams.
- 24-hour event: £70 for solos, £65 per person for pairs, and £60 each for teams.
