Dedicated runners from across the UK will gather at The Carver Barracks (formerly Debden Airfield) in Essex for the Essex Remembrance Run 2026. This annual event honors fallen heroes and raises funds for The Felix Fund, a military charity dedicated to supporting service members and their families. Set against the historic backdrop of a former World War II airbase, the race weekend offers a variety of distances: half marathon, 10km, 5km, and a one-mile run. Participants can look forward to a flat, fast course along the disused runway grounds, ensuring an enjoyable experience for runners at all levels. The atmosphere is vibrant with music playing throughout the event, providing motivation as you cross the finish line. Race-goers will receive custom-designed medals upon completion of their chosen distance and enjoy complimentary snacks and photos from the day to commemorate their achievement. Children under eight years old must be accompanied by a paying adult for safety reasons but can participate in any race category with an appropriate ticket. The event is designed to foster community spirit, encouraging runners to share their dreams and achievements on ATW's social media platforms. In addition to supporting military families through donations made during registration or fundraising opportunities available at checkout, participants also have the chance to transfer their entry to another future ATW event should circumstances change. This flexibility ensures that everyone can participate in a race that suits them best. The Essex Remembrance Run promises not only an engaging run but also a heartfelt tribute to those who served and sacrificed for our nation. Join us as we come together to honor the past while looking forward to a brighter future through community support and athletic endeavor. This event is organized by ATW, founded in 2011 with a mission to inspire people to Dream, Believe, and Achieve their goals through various sporting events across the UK. With over 40,000 entries annually, ATW continues to be a beloved part of the running community.
