The Piece of Cake Trail Run

About the Event

Experience the beauty and challenge of Shropshire's rolling hills on July 10, 2027, with distances ranging from a scenic 10K to an epic full marathon. The race begins at Carding Mill Valley near Church Stretton, where runners will traverse rugged countryside within the National Trust’s Long Mynd estate. Half-marathon participants complete one loop through stunning landscapes and rolling hills, while marathoners tackle this terrain twice for a total of 26.2 miles.
The course is fully marked but racers are advised to download and use GPX files as an additional guide. All runners must carry at least 500ml of water and basic first aid supplies in their rucksacks. The full marathon has a strict cut-off time, requiring participants to complete the initial loop by noon for eligibility to continue on the second lap.
The race starts promptly at 9am from Carding Mill Valley and finishes back where it began, with well-stocked aid stations along the way. Friendly marshals will be there to cheer you on every step of the journey. Upon crossing the finish line, all participants receive a blingtastic medal celebrating their achievement.
Don’t forget to bring your best bake for our cake competition – prizes await those who impress the judges! This event is more than just a race; it’s an adventure in one of England's most picturesque settings.
