Osprey Sprint Triathlon: A Friendly Early-Season Kickoff on Portland Island
For both newcomers to the sport and seasoned triathletes, the Osprey Sprint Triathlon offers an inviting entry into competition. This early-season race is designed for simplicity and organization, making it a perfect choice whether you're embarking on your first triathlon or kicking off another year of racing.
The event consists of three segments: a 300-meter pool swim, followed by a scenic 15.2-kilometer bike ride around Portland Island's southern coast towards the iconic Portland Bill lighthouse, and concluding with a flat and fast 5-kilometer run along Hamm Beach.
Swimmers will take part in individual time-trial starts based on their predicted times for an efficient transition to the next leg of the race. The cycling route provides breathtaking views as participants navigate through scenic landscapes en route to Portland Bill. Finally, runners enjoy a straightforward out-and-back course that highlights the beauty of Hamm Beach with its smooth and swift terrain.
