Haldon Forest once again hosts its beloved night trail races, offering runners the chance to navigate through the forest's enchanting darkness. The main attractions are a 10K loop course and a shorter 5K route, both starting and finishing at the prominent Start/Finish arch.
The courses have been slightly adjusted this year to ensure they exceed their official distances by just enough to provide a fair challenge for all participants. Prizes will be awarded not only to overall winners but also to category victors, along with special recognition for the best hats among runners who choose to accessorize creatively.
For younger racers, there are two options: a 1K fun run suitable for children aged 3-7 and a more challenging 2K race designed for kids between 8-11 years old. Parents can join their little ones in these races at no extra cost, making it an ideal family outing.
Participants will need to bring head torches or chest-mounted lights due to the nighttime setting of the event. The forest offers ample parking space but visitors should be aware that a fee is required for its use.
