The Original St. Patrick's Day Road Race

Join the 40th annual St. Patrick’s Day Road Race on March 14, 2027, for Calgary's premier early-season running event! This beloved race has been an integral part of local runners' calendars since its inception by the Calgary Roadrunners four decades ago.
With a capacity of just 600 participants, this year's edition promises to be as intimate and spirited as ever. The race starts at Bishop Pinkham Jr High School due to renovations at Central Memorial High School, making it an ideal venue for runners looking to kick off their spring training in style.
The course itself offers a challenging yet rewarding experience with its varied terrain that requires participants to adapt their stride accordingly. Whether you're a seasoned runner or just starting out, the race is designed to cater to all levels of fitness and enthusiasm.
In addition to the competitive spirit, there are special discounts available: $40 for the first 40 registrants, $15 off for runners under 17, and $10 discount for those over 70. Online registration closes on Saturday, March 13th at 3:59 PM.
Race package pickup is conveniently offered from March 11 to 12 at Strides Marda Loop and on the morning of March 13 at Strides Fish Creek. Out-of-town participants can collect their packages during late registration on race day.
After crossing the finish line, runners will be greeted with post-race festivities including a meal and opportunities for socializing. All participants receive a finisher's medal as part of their race package. The event also supports Diabetes Canada and the Calgary Road Runners in their ongoing efforts to promote health and wellness within the community.
