The MTC Thames Challenge 2026

The Thames Challenge is an epic four-day endurance race that spans 184 miles, tracing the iconic River Thames through England's heartland. This grueling journey serves as both a standalone feat of strength and perseverance and acts as one of two qualifying events for entry into Notorious, the grand finale of the Challenger Series.
Divided into four distinct stages over consecutive days, the Thames Challenge unfolds with its own set of unique challenges: The Cotswold Ultra, The Oxford Ultra, The Windsor Ultra, and The Richmond Ultra. Each stage offers a different landscape and atmosphere, from rolling hills to historic cityscapes, providing runners with an unforgettable blend of natural beauty and cultural richness.
Self-sufficiency is key as participants must carry essential items throughout the race:
