Santa’s Scamper Returns for Another Joyous Year Get ready for an exhilarating morning filled with festive cheer as you lace up your running shoes and join the annual Santa's Scamper. This beloved charity run has become a cherished tradition, raising over £15,000 to support various local charities in previous years. This year’s beneficiaries will be announced closer to December 2026, but rest assured that every step you take contributes directly to making a positive impact within your community. The Scamper starts and finishes at the vibrant Calne Community Campus. The route winds through the heart of town for approximately 4km, with enthusiastic crowds lining the streets to cheer on runners throughout their journey. This lively atmosphere is sure to keep your energy high as you navigate the festive course. Upon crossing the finish line, participants are invited to join in a celebratory after-party where they can meet representatives from participating charities and indulge in delicious holiday treats and hot drinks provided by local vendors. The event also features performances by a guest choir that adds an extra layer of warmth and festivity to the experience. Each runner will receive a Santa suit as part of their entry fee, along with a finisher's medal commemorating their participation. This year’s categories include adult (ages 15+), youth (9-14 years old) for £12 each, child (5-8 years old) also at £12 per entrant, and free entries for children under five who must be accompanied by an adult. Registration opens on Saturday, December 12th, at 9:30 AM. The fun run itself begins promptly at 11:00 AM. It’s important to note that while strollers are welcome on the course with appropriate caution, scooters and other skating equipment cannot be accommodated due to safety concerns.
