Experience the thrill of trail running through the stunning Shropshire Hills with this epic race on February 6th. Competitors can choose between a half marathon or full marathon, each offering breathtaking views and challenging terrain.
The half marathon course winds along one loop through rugged countryside, showcasing the beauty of The Long Mynd. Marathon runners will have the unique opportunity to tackle these trails twice, doubling their scenic adventure. Both routes traverse a National Trust haven in Carding Mill Valley, known for its picturesque tea rooms near the start and finish line.
Runners are advised to carry essential supplies such as a rucksack with at least 500ml of water and basic first aid equipment. The race begins promptly at 9am, with full marathon participants facing a strict cut-off time of 7 hours in total or 12:30pm for completing their initial loop.
Carding Mill Valley is conveniently located near Church Stretton, offering easy access to the town's amenities and train station just a mile away. The race entry fee includes an impressive medal and well-stocked aid stations along the route, ensuring runners are supported throughout.
To add a touch of fun, participants can bring their homemade cakes for a special competition with prizes on offer. Join us in this scenic adventure through Shropshire’s natural beauty!
