About the Event

Step into the whimsical world of The Divorce Day Marathon, set to celebrate its 6th edition on June 5, 2027. This unique race invites runners from all walks of life to lace up their shoes and embrace a charming course that weaves through picturesque landscapes in Shropshire. Starting at The Unicorn Inn, the route takes participants along parts of Silkin Way, offering scenic views of Rough Park before descending into the Valley of Ironbridge.
The highlight of this race is crossing the iconic Iron Bridge, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and an engineering marvel from the Industrial Revolution era. Runners can choose between three distances: 8 miles, 16 miles, or a full marathon. The marathon course consists of three laps, while half-marathon runners complete two loops, each lap covering approximately eight miles.
But what truly sets this event apart is its emphasis on creativity and fun. Participants are encouraged to dress up in their finest attire—top hats and tiaras are particularly recommended—and join the colorful procession as they navigate through historic landmarks and lush greenery. The atmosphere is lively and festive, making it a memorable day for all involved.
Registration is now open for this year's event, promising an unforgettable journey through both history and whimsy on race day.
