This flexible Friday event offers a unique opportunity for runners to tailor their experience according to personal goals or preferences, all while enjoying an affordable entry fee. From 7:30 AM until 3:30 PM, the gates will be open for you to explore at your own pace along the scenic River Thames path. Whether you're aiming to build endurance over multiple laps or simply looking for a leisurely jog through beautiful landscapes, our event welcomes runners of all abilities and even includes walkers. Members enjoy an exclusive discount on entry fees—up to £10 off—and secure their spot with guaranteed admission plus a mini-medal pin at every race. Additionally, UK Athletics affiliated club members receive another £2 reduction for the day's activities. The 7-hour Time Challenge allows participants to choose any distance they wish within our flexible framework. The minimum requirement is just 3 kilometers, while ambitious runners can tackle half-marathon distances (15 laps), marathons (6 laps), ultra runs (7 or more laps), and even a grueling 50km challenge. Our route winds through lush greenery and along the picturesque River Thames, offering approximately 60% of its path on well-maintained tarmac with the remainder being grassy trails that may become muddy during wetter seasons. While road shoes are suitable year-round, trail-specific footwear can provide better traction for those navigating softer terrain. Upon completing at least 3 kilometers, you'll be greeted with a commemorative medal and have the chance to earn additional pins reflecting longer distances achieved on the day. Vegan runners will also appreciate our specially curated goody bags filled with treats tailored just for them. Aid stations are conveniently placed throughout the course, providing sustenance in the form of snacks, fruits, cheeses, and vegan options to keep you fueled during your run. For those marking a milestone or significant achievement at this event, such as reaching 50, 99, 100, 200, or 250 runs completed, we offer personalized running numbers with your name and the special date commemorated on them. The Last Hop pub serves as our base station offering restroom facilities. However, there are no separate changing rooms available; runners can change in the spacious downstairs toilets if needed. Parking is conveniently located at Bridge Street Car Park (TW18 4TP). Race day instructions will be sent out via email a week before the event and number pick-up happens on-site prior to your run's start time.
