Join us for the Running 9 to 5, a unique and inclusive celebration honoring the legendary Dolly Parton. Held on January 2nd, 2027, this heartfelt tribute invites runners of all abilities and walkers alike to come together at The Last Hop in Staines. The event kicks off at 9am, offering participants an engaging way to start their year with a run that celebrates the life and legacy of Dolly Parton. Whether you're dressed up in sequins or simply aiming for personal bests, every finisher will receive a specially designed medal celebrating this iconic figure. This is not just any race; it's a 7-hour time challenge where runners set their own pace and distance within a scenic loop along the River Thames. The course features well-maintained paths and tarmac with minimal grass sections, making it accessible for road shoes year-round. Participants can choose to run as few or as many laps as they wish, ranging from a minimum of 3km up to ultra distances. For those who complete half-marathon distances (13.1 miles) or more, exclusive distance pins are available to commemorate their achievements. Vegan goody bags and standard finisher gifts will also be provided for all participants. The event venue offers basic facilities including toilets but no changing rooms or showers; however, the downstairs restrooms can accommodate those who need a quick change before heading out on the course. Parking is conveniently located in Bridge Street Car Park just minutes away from The Last Hop. Participants are encouraged to reach out if they have special milestones such as their 50th marathon, and we will provide personalized recognition for these achievements. With aid tables offering an array of snacks and beverages at every lap turnaround, runners can stay fueled throughout the event. Whether you're a seasoned runner or just starting your journey, Running 9 to 5 promises an unforgettable experience in honor of Dolly Parton's enduring spirit.
