Swim - Wyresdale Park (22/11)

About the Event

Welcome to Wyresdale Park, where nature and swimming come together for an unforgettable aquatic adventure. Nestled along picturesque Snowhill Lane, this serene location offers a tranquil setting for swimmers of all levels.
Upon arrival at the jetty, you'll be greeted by friendly staff who will assist with any necessary instructions or equipment rentals. Storage boxes are available in case of rain to keep your belongings dry and secure. Tow floats are provided free of charge and highly recommended due to safety guidelines that make them compulsory during your swim.
The lake itself is a stunning body of water, dotted with blue buoys marking areas to avoid—these indicate shallow waters used for fishing lines, so be cautious as you navigate the 400-meter circuits. Wetsuits are optional but can be hired by prior arrangement if needed; remember to dress appropriately or change at your vehicle.
Facilities include ample parking near the main entrance and an additional overflow lot accessible via a small bridge and woodland footpath leading directly to the lake's edge. The Applestore Café is on-site, offering refreshments before or after your swim, while toilets are conveniently located both inside and outside the café building.
Getting there by car involves following clear directions from Preston along Gubberford Lane or Lancaster’s Station Lane, ensuring a smooth journey regardless of traffic conditions. For those preferring public transport, Stagecoach bus 40 provides an alternative route to Cabus Gubberford Lane in approximately 45 minutes.
