Swim - Wyresdale Park (06/12)

About the Event

Welcome to Wyresdale Park, where nature and swimming come together for an unforgettable aquatic adventure. Upon arrival at the jetty, leave any belongings on storage boxes or hooks if it's raining; staff will greet you here with instructions.
Swimmers can borrow tow floats from this spot, and wetsuits are available by prior request for a £10 fee. The lake offers various swimming badges throughout the year: "My First Swim," "First Lap," and even an "I Swam Through Winter" badge during colder months.
The course features buoys marking 400-meter circuits in summer, with each lap totaling roughly one mile. Blue buoys near the shore indicate shallow fishing areas to avoid. Wetsuits are optional but bright-colored hats for visibility or winter bobble hats are recommended.
Facilities include parking and a café nearby where you can grab refreshments before or after your swim. Toilets are located outside behind the café, with additional indoor facilities as well. No changing rooms are available on-site, so please arrive dressed in swimming attire or change discreetly at your vehicle.
To reach Wyresdale Park by car from Preston, take A6 and turn onto Gubberford Lane over a bridge; then follow Snowhill Lane to Scorton village. For bus travel from Lancaster, catch Stagecoach 40 towards Cabus Gubberford Lane for an approximately 45-minute ride.
