Welcome to Preese Hall Farm, where nature and tranquility come together for an unforgettable open-water swimming session. Nestled within the rural Fylde landscape of Lancashire, this serene location offers a peaceful setting away from bustling city life. The centerpiece is a picturesque lake that’s invitingly shallow for most parts, making it accessible even to those who might be hesitant about deeper waters. The left side of the lake gets very shallow near the bank, while the right side tends to be slightly deeper but still safe and manageable. Rest assured, this body of water has been thoroughly tested by professionals to ensure safety. Please note that Preese Hall Farm is a working farm, so dogs are not permitted on site for this event. We appreciate your understanding in maintaining the integrity of our venue. Swimmers have the option to wear wetsuits if desired and tow floats are mandatory for everyone’s safety. Brightly colored swim caps or bobble hats are recommended to enhance visibility, particularly during winter months when conditions may be colder. Upon completing your swim, you’ll find a welcoming log burner in the gun room next to the toilets—a cozy spot perfect for warming up after dipping into the lake (available only during winter). Additionally, many swimmers head over to Woody’s Café at Koi Pool Water Gardens located nearby for some post-swim refreshments and conversation. Changing facilities are available near your vehicle or within designated areas such as the gun room. Feel free to bring along personal items like hot drinks to enjoy while you change or relax after your swim. Tow floats will be provided if needed, alongside supervision from experienced staff members who ensure safety both in and around the water. Getting to Preese Hall Farm is straightforward by car: simply enter through secure gates using a code (details available upon registration), then follow signs leading up to the courtyard where parking spaces are reserved for participants. For those traveling by public transport, buses 76 and 75 offer nearby stops from Blackpool-St Annes and Fleetwood respectively; however, be prepared for an additional walk from these locations. We look forward to sharing this special day with you! We hope you’ll cherish the experience of swimming in such a serene environment and make memories that last long after October 12th rolls around. Warm regards, The Preese Hall Farm Team
