Set against the serene backdrop of rural Fylde, Preese Hall Farm offers an enchanting location for swimmers looking to enjoy a refreshing dip. This exclusive session takes place from 10:30 am to 11:30 am on October 5th, 2026.
The centerpiece is its tranquil lake, which stretches invitingly across the landscape. The water depth remains chest-high in most areas, making it accessible and safe for swimmers of various abilities. It's important to note that the left side of the lake becomes quite shallow near the bank, while the far right edge offers slightly deeper waters. Rest assured, the owners have conducted thorough safety checks, confirming that this pristine body of water is suitable for swimming.
As a working farm, Preese Hall Farm requests participants not to bring dogs onsite out of respect for their operations and other visitors. Wetsuits are optional but recommended, especially during cooler months when bright-colored hats or bobble hats can enhance visibility in the murky peaty waters.
Post-swim relaxation is facilitated by the cozy gun room next to the toilets where a log burner (available only during winter) awaits to warm you up after your swim. Swimmers often head over to Woody’s Café at Koi Pool Water Gardens, located just 35 minutes away on foot or drive from Preese Hall Farm.
Facilities are conveniently spread out around the venue. Participants can change in their vehicles, near water's edge, inside the toilets, or within the gun room if desired. Tow floats are mandatory and will be provided for those who need them. Supervision and safety provisions along the bank ensure a secure swimming experience.
For those traveling by car, Preese Hall Farm is situated at Weeton, PR4 3HT. From Lytham, take the first left turn before reaching the Army Camp entrance; from Wyre direction, it’s the first right after passing through the main gate of the barracks. The facility can be easily identified with clear signage along the fence.
Public transport options include bus routes 76 and 75, which stop near the camp or opposite Kirkham Road at different times throughout the day. However, these stops are a considerable distance from the venue, so careful planning is advised for those relying on public transportation.
