SUBWAY® Restaurants Canada Day 10 Miler and Grand Bay Guardian 5K

On July 1, 2027, runners and walkers of all levels gather in Grand Bay-Westfield, New Brunswick for the SUBWAY® Restaurants Canada Day 10 Miler and Grand Bay Guardian 5K. This beloved race, first held in 2002, offers two distances: a challenging 10-mile route and a more accessible 5km course.
The event kicks off at River Valley Rink with participants winding through scenic routes that showcase the area's natural beauty and charming landscapes. The certified course features varied terrain, including gradual hills and smooth stretches, providing runners with an engaging mix of challenges and flat sections to enjoy steady progress.
For those tackling the 10-mile distance, prepare for a memorable journey marked by twists and turns along picturesque paths. Course records stand at 52:15 minutes for men, set by Matt McNeil in 2014, and 59:43 minutes for women, achieved by Shelley Doucet in 2018.
In addition to the main event, participants have the opportunity to complete both races—Gary Mittelholtz 10 Mile Run and Guardian Drugs 5K—to receive a free sock package. The race weekend also includes a walk-run clinic led by Lily on Wednesday nights in uptown Saint John, supporting runners preparing for the Grand Bay Guardian 5K.
Finishers can look forward to receiving commemorative medals as they cross the finish line, celebrating their achievement and adding another memorable medal to their collection.
