Kick off your running season with the Stanhill 5k Trail Race on April 13, 2027, as part of the Accrington Fell & Trail Series. This inaugural race begins at Britannia Tap & Grill in Oswaldtwistle and promises a challenging yet rewarding experience across scenic local trails.
The route offers runners an intimate look into the Lancashire countryside with its winding paths and varied terrain, providing both newcomers and experienced trail enthusiasts with a fantastic introduction to the series ahead. Participants can enjoy testing their skills on this short but spirited course while taking in the natural beauty of the area.
For those interested in competitive points throughout the season, each runner's best nine results from thirteen races will contribute to the overall standings. Individual race entries are welcome alongside full-series entry options provided by the organizers.
New for 2027 is the Junior 2k Series, open to runners aged eight and above as of April 13, 2027. The series includes six races across various locations in Lancashire, catering specifically to younger athletes with age categories ranging from U10 to U16. Each junior racer's best four results out of the six will count towards their final standings.
The Junior 2k race begins at 6:30 PM sharp before the main event, ensuring that young participants get a chance to showcase their talents and build confidence early in the season. Entry fees for each individual junior race are set at £3 per run, payable on the day of competition.
