Riverbender

Join us for an unforgettable run along the scenic Foreshore Park on December 12, 2026! This beautiful race offers both a 5KM and a 10KM distance, winding through Burnaby's picturesque Riverbend area alongside the Fraser River. Both routes feature fast, flat bike paths and wide gravel trails that are perfect for first-time runners looking to tackle these distances or seasoned racers aiming to set new personal bests.
As you run along the riverbank, keep an eye out for breathtaking views of the water and the diverse wildlife that calls this area home during winter. You might even spot eagles' nests perched high above the trees! The course is well-marked with accurate distances clearly indicated throughout.
In addition to a challenging yet enjoyable route, your registration includes several perks: a unique finishers medal, a beer voucher redeemable at Steel & Oak Brewing Co., and professional timing with bib and chip. The event supports KidSport New West, an organization dedicated to helping children aged 18 and under participate in sports by providing grants for registration fees.
We recognize that the land on which this race takes place is unceded and unsurrendered Halkomelem territory, and we honor the rich history and connection of these peoples with the area. Join us as we celebrate both athletic achievement and community spirit while giving back to local youth sports initiatives.
