Since 2015, The Salvation Army’s Santa Shuffle has been a cornerstone of community engagement in Chilliwack. Each year, hundreds gather to contribute funds and support essential services like food, shelter, and other forms of assistance to local families in need. This edition promises to continue the tradition with an exciting course that winds through charming parklands and residential streets.
The 5K Fun Run and 1K Elf Walk offer a mix of firm terrain and slight softness, ideal for both seasoned runners and newcomers alike. Participants will start at Crown Park and follow a route that includes gentle hills before returning to the starting point with an exhilarating finish. To ensure comfort during the race, aid stations are strategically placed along the course.
Race day is expected to feature temperatures ranging from 2.2°C to 7.1°C (36°F to 45°F), with a humidity-adjusted feel of around 3.5°C and wind speeds averaging at 5.6 km/h. Despite these cooler conditions, runners can look forward to two hours and thirty minutes of sunshine.
The Individual – 5K Fun Run / 1K Elf Walk registration fee is CA$61.12 per participant, with discounts available for youth (aged 18 and under) and seniors (age 65+). Group registrations of four or more runners also enjoy special rates. Race bibs can be collected at the event site between 7:00 AM and 9:00 AM on race day; valid photo ID is required to confirm age eligibility for discounts.
First-time attendees should arrive prepared with appropriate running gear, along with any necessary documentation or items as specified by The Salvation Army.
