Pinedale STAmpede

The 9th Annual STAmpede, hosted by the Sublette Trails Association (STA), invites nordic skiing enthusiasts of all ages and skill levels to Pinedale for an exhilarating day on the trails. This non-profit fundraiser is set against the picturesque backdrop of western Wyoming's White Pine Ski Area, offering a range of distances including 20K classic and free style races, as well as shorter options like the 10K and even a fun-filled 5K event.
Racers can inspect the course on Friday at White Pine Ski Area before officially checking in at the Pinedale Aquatic Center. On race day, January 23rd, participants gather early for final registration or last-minute sign-ups starting at 8 am. The mass start begins promptly at 10:00 AM with a variety of classic and free style races kicking off simultaneously.
One standout feature is the costume party lap that encourages racers to embrace their playful side in lumberjack-themed attire, though any creative outfit will do for this untimed competition. Prizes are awarded to the top three costumes, adding an extra layer of fun and camaraderie to the day's festivities.
The event not only celebrates athletic achievement but also fosters community spirit through its partnership with local sponsors and volunteers who ensure everything runs smoothly from start to finish. Join fellow skiers for a memorable day filled with challenging courses, scenic views, and friendly competition.
