About the Event

Experience the rugged beauty of Northern Alberta with the fourth installment of the 5 Peaks Trail Running Series at Chickakoo Lake Recreation Area, located about 30 minutes west of Edmonton. This scenic park spans over 480 acres and offers a diverse landscape filled with woods, lakes, and abundant wildlife like moose, deer, beavers, and various bird species. Runners will navigate through technical singletrack trails that challenge both body and mind with steep climbs and descents.
The race begins at the main parking lot where participants quickly venture into the heart of Chickakoo Lake Recreation Area. The course features a mix of fast hard pack sections and grinding hill climbs, culminating in breathtaking views from atop the ridge during the final ascent before descending back to the start/finish line.
On August 22, 2027, runners can enjoy an event schedule that includes on-site packet pickup starting at 8:30 a.m., followed by staggered starts for various distances and age groups throughout the morning. Spectators are welcome to cheer from the start/finish area where they will also find food options post-race.
