Perth Tartan Trot

On June 19, 2027, Perth hosts the vibrant Tartan Trot 8K race, an annual celebration of Scottish heritage and athletic spirit. Participants are required to wear traditional kilts for this unique event, adding a dash of cultural flair to the running experience. The day begins with live entertainment at Crystal Palace in Perth, where runners can pick up their bibs if they haven't already done so on Thursday evening.
The main attraction is the 8K race along scenic routes around Perth, featuring chip-timing and a finishers' medal for all participants. For those looking to extend their challenge, there's also the Clyde Challenge, combining an 8K run with an additional mile, rewarding runners with post-race festivities including beer.
The event kicks off at 5:00 pm with the Tay River Mile race, followed by a Wee Bairns race for children aged 2-6. At 5:45 pm, there's the ceremonial Kilted March to the start line before the Tartan Trot 8K begins promptly at 6:00 pm.
With its blend of tradition and sport, this event promises an unforgettable day filled with Scottish charm and athletic camaraderie.
