Môreson Mile Open Water Swim 2027

Join us for the Môreson Mile on February 20, 2027, at Island Lake in Wilderness, part of South Africa's picturesque Garden Route. This sixth edition promises to be the biggest yet with over 400 swimmers expected and two new distances: an 800-meter swim starting at 08:30 AM for those looking to push their limits slightly beyond a short race, and a challenging 3-kilometer endurance event also beginning at 09:30 AM. The traditional mile (1.6 kilometers) remains the centerpiece of the day, attracting competitive swimmers and triathletes alike.
Swimming buoys are recommended for all distances to ensure safety in this open-water setting surrounded by natural beauty. Whether you're a developing swimmer or an experienced athlete preparing for your next big challenge, there's something here for everyone. Early bird entries not only save money but also come with special gifts for the first 100 registrants.
The Môreson Mile is more than just a race; it’s about community and inclusivity. Since welcoming its first swimmer with disabilities in 2023, the event has been committed to making open-water swimming accessible to all. Indicate any support requirements during registration so our team can assist you accordingly.
Experience the vibrant atmosphere of Island Lake as swimmers from various backgrounds come together for a day filled with camaraderie and competitive spirit.
