Knysna Heads Marathon 2027

Experience the beauty of Thesen Island, nestled along the tranquil waters of Knysna, for an unforgettable running adventure on February 13, 2027. This flat and fast course at sea level offers perfect conditions for runners aiming to qualify for legendary races like Comrades and Two Oceans. The event features a full marathon (42.2km) starting at 6:00 AM, followed by a half-marathon (21.1km), and a 10km run beginning just fifteen minutes later. Walkers are welcome to join in the 10km and half-marathon distances.
The race day essentials include cut-off times designed for all levels of runners—6 hours for the full marathon, 3 hours and 30 minutes for the half-marathon, and a generous two-hour window for the 10km run. Prize-giving ceremonies will take place at 10:00 AM for both shorter distances and at noon for marathon finishers.
Participants can collect their race numbers on Friday from 5 PM to 10 PM at the Knysna Marathon Club clubhouse or early on Saturday morning starting at 5 AM. Race t-shirts, available in short sleeve styles, are a great souvenir but must be pre-ordered by January 5 for R300.
Online entries close on February 8 and include an additional service fee of R16. For more detailed information about race rules and prize details, refer to the official flyers provided during registration or contact Morney Willemse at [email protected] with any questions.
