MBAA McDowell Meltdown

The 2027 MBAA XC Series invites mountain biking enthusiasts and trail runners alike to explore the rugged beauty of Arizona's natural landscapes. Set for January 9, 2027, this cross-country race promises thrilling climbs and breathtaking descents through some of the state’s most scenic trails. Riders will navigate varied terrain, from sandy singletracks to rocky outcrops, testing their endurance and technical skills.
Participants must choose an age division based on what they will be at year-end 2027; for instance, a rider turning 15 by December 31 should register in the Beginner Men 15-16 category. Race organizers emphasize the importance of proper registration: those not signed up for the full series must collect new number plates at each event, as previous race numbers cannot be reused.
Each race day features unique race-specific logos on number plates to help riders identify their specific events and avoid any confusion with results. The dynamic nature of trail conditions ensures that every ride offers a fresh challenge, making this an exciting opportunity for both seasoned competitors and newcomers eager to experience the thrill of Arizona’s trails.
