Rattlesnake Rollercoaster 5K/10K

Get ready for the Rattlesnake Rollercoaster 5K/10K, hosted by the Stronghold Area Recreational Park Association (SARPA) in collaboration with Gateway of Light. Come experience a one-of-a-kind trail race through the rugged beauty of southeastern Arizona’s Dragoon Mountains!

This scenic course takes runners and walkers through rolling desert terrain surrounded by mountain views and the unmistakable character of the Arizona landscape. Whether you choose the 5K or 10K, expect some climbs, some descents, and plenty of reasons we call it the Rattlesnake Rollercoaster.

The course travels along trails crossing both private property and U.S. Forest Service land, giving participants a unique opportunity to experience an area of the Dragoon Mountains that you may not see during your everyday run.

Whether you are an experienced trail runner, a road runner looking for a new challenge, a walker ready for an adventure, or simply someone who loves getting outside, we would love to have you join us.

Registration Perks
Register early and get a little extra!

👕 Register by October 16 and receive a complimentary Rattlesnake Rollercoaster event T-shirt.
🎒 The first 100 registered participants will receive a race-day swag bag.  Made possible through the generous donation from Northern Cochise Community Hospital (NCCH).
🍽️ Racers who register by October 15 may also reserve a complimentary pre-race dinner, made possible through the generous support of Arizona G&T (AEPCO). Dinner will be held the evening before the race from 5:00–7:00 PM. A reservation is required so we can plan an accurate head count.
Additional event shirts and guest dinner tickets may also be available for purchase during registration.

Run for a Local Cause
This race is more than a day on the trails. Proceeds from the Rattlesnake Rollercoaster help support SARPA’s continued maintenance and improvement of our local community park.

By participating, you are helping us maintain and improve a community space used by local families, children, organizations, and events throughout the year.
