The third edition of O III Eco Swimming Angra promises to be an unforgettable experience, blending education and adventure along the stunning coastlines near Rio de Janeiro. Set for January 15-17, 2027, this aquatic festival kicks off with a lively opening ceremony at Hotel Portogalo in Angra dos Reis on Friday afternoon.
Saturday is dedicated to training sessions that take participants from theoretical knowledge to practical application. The day starts with a technical workout at the Olympic-sized pool of COLÉGIO NAVAL, focusing on essential open-water swimming techniques. Later, under the guidance of renowned experts, swimmers will put these skills into practice during an ocean clinic near Ilha Grande.
Participants are required to travel by ECO BUS—a sustainable and fun way to connect various locations throughout the day. This custom bus offers a unique social experience as it shuttles attendees between Hotel Portogalo and COLÉGIO NAVAL, adding excitement with live music, conversations among swimmers, and perhaps even some surprise giveaways.
The highlight of O III Eco Swimming Angra arrives on Sunday morning when participants board an escuna (sailing boat) for a scenic journey to Ilha Grande. Here, they will participate in the main event: a 3km, 2km, or 1km open-water swim from Praia dos Arrecifes, known for its crystalline waters and breathtaking views. The beach’s natural beauty, surrounded by lush vegetation and coconuts trees, provides an idyllic backdrop to this challenging yet rewarding race.
Participants will return to Hotel Portogalo in the afternoon, where they can unwind or explore additional activities within the hotel's extensive facilities. While staying at the hotel is not mandatory for event registration, it’s highly recommended due to its proximity and special rates offered exclusively to Eco Swimming Angra attendees.
