La KOALA RUN 2027

The KOALA Run, organized by the Club des KOALA, returns for another exciting edition on March 7, 2027. This year’s event features two main race distances and an additional challenge option set amidst stunning natural landscapes near Brest.
Participants can choose between a scenic 10-kilometer run or a shorter but equally picturesque 5-kilometer course. Both routes start from the MMA Hall in Le Relecq-Kerhuon, taking runners through the beautiful Costour Valley—a lush forested area nestled between Brest and Le Relecq Kerhuon. The longer distance continues to the tranquil Moulin Blanc beach before looping back to the finish line at the starting point.
For those looking for an extra challenge, there's a combined 5+10 kilometers option designed specifically for seasoned runners who want to push their limits further. Additionally, a leisurely 10-kilometer walk follows similar terrain as the running courses but allows participants more time to enjoy the scenery at a comfortable pace.
The event also caters to young athletes with special children's races held on the bi-cross field in Kermadec. These include short distances suitable for different age groups, such as 500 meters for school-aged runners and longer options up to two kilometers for older kids.
Registration opens early at 8:30 AM for walkers who can start their journey anytime between then and 9 AM. The first race of the day is the 5-kilometer event beginning promptly at 9:30 AM, followed by the main 10-kilometer run starting at 10:30 AM.
Entry fees are as follows:
- 5 kilometers: €7
- 10 kilometers: €11
- Challenge (5+10 kilometers): €15
- Children's races: €2 per child
- Walkers: €6 on the day of the event
Participants should bring their own reusable cups for hydration stations along both race routes. Parking is available at Leclerc Kerhuon, making it easy to reach the starting line.
New regulations have been implemented since April 1st, 2024, under which non-licensed athletes aged over 18 no longer need a medical certificate but must complete the Parcours de Prévention Santé (PPS) online. This quick and straightforward process ensures all participants are aware of health risks associated with physical activity.
The KOALA Run offers something for everyone—from experienced runners to casual walkers, families, and young athletes eager to test their skills in a supportive environment. Join us on March 7th to experience the beauty of coastal Brittany while challenging yourself or simply enjoying nature’s splendor at your own pace.
