Introduction to Open Water Swimming

Embark on an invigorating open-water swimming experience at Wyresdale Park, nestled along Snowhill Lane near Scorton, Preston. This session is designed to introduce you to the unique challenges and pleasures of swimming in natural waters while ensuring your safety with fully qualified lifeguards and first aid support.
Arrive prepared for a day that balances education and immersion. You'll learn essential techniques such as breathing strategies and acclimatization tips, all aimed at enhancing both your physical performance and mental well-being. The session runs from 10:15 to 11:45 AM, allowing ample time to warm up before diving in.
Participants are encouraged but not required to wear wetsuits; however, if you're new to open water swimming, a suit can provide an extra layer of comfort and buoyancy. Swim gear including goggles, hats, and towels should be brought along with plenty of warm clothing for post-swim relaxation. Changing facilities aren't available on-site, so plan accordingly.
The park’s serene setting offers the perfect backdrop as you glide through its tranquil waters under the watchful eye of experienced instructors who will guide you every step of the way. Whether you're a seasoned swimmer or just starting out, this session promises an enriching and enjoyable experience that celebrates the unique beauty of open-water swimming.
Remember to notify organizers in advance if you plan on using your own wetsuit for size confirmation or if there are any concerns about your comfort level in deep water environments. Should adverse weather conditions force a cancellation, participants will be offered either a full refund or an alternative date to ensure no one misses out on this refreshing adventure.
Join us at Wyresdale Park and embrace the invigorating spirit of open-water swimming amidst nature’s splendor.
