About the Event

Welcome to Wyresdale Park, where nature meets swimming adventure. Nestled amidst tranquil landscapes, this venue offers an idyllic setting for swimmers of all levels. Upon arrival at the jetty, store your belongings securely using storage boxes or hooks provided if needed.
Swim attire is recommended as there are no changing facilities on site; please arrive dressed and ready to plunge into the serene waters. Tow floats are mandatory here to enhance safety and enjoyment. Wetsuits can be hired for an additional fee of £10, but they must be requested in advance due to limited availability at the venue.
The lake is dotted with blue buoys marking shallow areas used by anglers, so it’s best to avoid swimming between these markers and the shore. During summer months, swimmers have the option to complete various badges such as "My First Swim" or "I Swam Through Winter." Safety kayakers patrol the area, ready to assist if you find yourself in difficulty; simply raise your arm for help.
Facilities include parking at Wyresdale Park and an overflow lot accessible via a small bridge. The Applestore Café offers refreshments nearby, with restrooms situated behind it. Additional indoor facilities are available just beyond the café.
For those traveling by car from Preston or Lancaster, detailed directions ensure easy access to this picturesque spot. Public transport options include bus services that drop you off conveniently near the park entrance.
Join us on November 3, 2026, for an unforgettable swimming experience at Wyresdale Park.
