Hallandsåstunnelns Hyllningslopp

Returning for its second year, the Hallandsåstunneln Hyllningslopp 2026 promises to be an unforgettable winter running festival over Bjäre Banvall. This scenic route along the old rail track that once carried trains before the tunnel opened exactly eleven years ago offers a unique and historic experience. The event has already earned its place as Båstad Municipality's Event of the Year in 2025, setting high expectations for this year’s edition.
Participants can choose between two classic distances: the half marathon (21.1 km) or the 10 km run. Both races start and finish in Båstad, a charming coastal town known for its historic station house where runners will cross the grand finishing line beneath an impressive goal arch. This year’s event has received official recognition from the Swedish Athletics Association, adding to the prestige of this beloved local tradition.
The race day experience is enhanced with fully timed races and water stations along both routes. Upon crossing the finish line, participants are greeted not only by a well-earned medal but also an exclusive gift for all runners who take part in the event. The top three finishers in each category will be awarded prizes at a special ceremony.
Adding to the festive atmosphere is the tradition of serving hot glögg and gingerbread cookies right after crossing the line, allowing participants to celebrate their achievements in true Advent spirit.
