Helsingborg Marathon & HOKA Helsingborg Half Marathon

Set against the picturesque backdrop of Helsingborg, Sweden's second-largest city, the Helsingborg Marathon offers runners an unforgettable journey through stunning landscapes and historic landmarks. The race begins at Sundstorget outside Dunkers Kulturhus, a vibrant cultural hub in the heart of the city. As participants lace up their shoes on this Sunday morning, they embark on a 42.195-kilometer course designed to showcase Helsingborg's diverse scenery.
The route winds through charming neighborhoods and picturesque parks such as Ramlösa Brunnspark and Jordbodalen, before leading runners past the enchanting Fredriksdal Museum and Garden, where an urban farm nestled in the heart of the city provides a unique contrast. The course then takes runners to Helsingborg Arena and Olympia, followed by the medieval fortress Kärnan.
In the second half, participants experience breathtaking views at Pålsjö Skog and Sofiero before descending down Tinkarpsbacken towards the ocean. The final 3.3 kilometers are marked with permanent signage every 100 meters, culminating in a thrilling finish line along the Öresund waterfront where runners cross under flag banners waving above them.
For those looking for a shorter adventure, the Helsingborg Half Marathon offers an equally captivating experience starting at Sundstorget and running through Gustav Adolfs Torg before connecting to the full marathon route near Kärnan. This 21-kilometer course includes the same historic sites as the longer event but with its own unique challenges, including a climb up to Kärnan after three kilometers.
Both races conclude in celebration along the ocean's edge, where runners can bask in their achievements against the backdrop of the stunning Öresund strait. This scenic and culturally rich marathon is not just a race; it’s an immersive journey through Helsingborg's beauty and history.
