About the Event

Nestled within the charming city of Kalmar, the Sylvesterloppet offers runners an idyllic setting for their final run of the year. The race begins and ends at the historic Fredriksskans, a site steeped in local history and culture. Participants are treated to a scenic course that winds through Malmfjärden's picturesque landscape.
The 5km distance is perfect for those looking for an easy yet enjoyable run. Competitors will complete one lap around this flat terrain, offering runners the chance to soak in the serene surroundings of Kalmar’s coastal waters and natural beauty. For those seeking a bit more challenge, the 10 km race doubles the fun with two laps through Malmfjärden's tranquil environment.
Both distances provide a smooth running experience without any significant elevation changes, ensuring that runners can focus on their pace and enjoy the atmosphere along the way. The Sylvesterloppet is not just about crossing the finish line but also about embracing the spirit of community and celebration as participants come together to mark the end of one year and welcome another with a sense of accomplishment and camaraderie.
The event concludes where it began, at Fredriksskans, allowing runners to reflect on their journey through this beautiful course while enjoying the festive ambiance surrounding them.
