About the Event

Join us this September for the eighth edition of The Guardians race, offering runners both half and full marathon distances through the picturesque Ironbridge Gorge. This year’s route begins at The Unicorn Inn before taking participants on an exhilarating journey across stunning landscapes.
For those tackling the full 26-mile challenge, prepare to complete three laps around this scenic course. Meanwhile, the half marathon runners will cover two laps of a slightly longer than standard distance (16 miles), ensuring both groups experience the beauty and history that Ironbridge has to offer. Additionally, there’s an option for shorter-distance enthusiasts with an 8-mile run.
The race day atmosphere is electric as participants come together to celebrate The Guardians’ legacy. Each finisher will receive a blingtastic medal to commemorate their achievement. Race HQ at The Unicorn Inn serves as the central hub for all pre-race preparations and post-event celebrations, located on Holly Road in Little Dawley, Telford (TF4 3HZ).
Whether you’re an experienced marathon runner or looking to push your limits with a half marathon distance, this event promises an unforgettable experience amidst one of England’s most historic settings.
