Forth Ultra and Team Relay 2027

Welcome to the 4th edition of the Forth Ultra and Team Relay on April 24, 2027! A breathtaking ultramarathon that loops around the Firth of Forth estuary, connecting two iconic Scottish trails: the Fife Coastal Path and the John Muir Way. This event offers a unique blend of scenic beauty and challenging terrain for both solo runners and relay teams.
### Race Details
- Distance: 44 miles / 71 km
- Total Ascent & Descent: 1,739 feet (869 up + 869 down)
- Time Limit: 11 hours
Participants can enter as solo runners or in relay teams of two or four. The race features a circular route with waymarked trails that require no navigation skills.
### Course Highlights
Starting at Helix Park, the route takes you past the Kelpies and over the Kincardine Bridge into Fife. You'll follow the coastal path towards the historic Forth Road Bridge before crossing to Boness on the John Muir Way. The final stretch leads through Kinneil Estate back to Falkirk.
### Race Breakdown
The course is divided into four stages with three checkpoints:
- Stage 1: Helix Park, Falkirk to Culross (Checkpoint 1) - 10.16 miles / 16.35 km
- Stage 2: Culross to FerryMuir Gate, Forth Road Bridge (Checkpoint 2) - 14.10 miles / 22.7 km
- Stage 3: FerryMuir Gate, Forth Road Bridge to Boness (Checkpoint 3) - 10.28 miles / 16.55 km
- Stage 4: Boness back to Helix Park, Falkirk (Finish Line) - 9.76 miles / 15.7 km
### Key Deadlines and Checkpoints
There are two critical cut-off times:
- Stage 2 FerryMuir Gate Car Park: 6 hours after start time.
- Finish line: 11 hours from the start.
Relay teams will be divided into three waves, starting at different intervals to ensure a smooth race flow. Exact wave details and final instructions will be provided in pre-race emails.

### Entry Information
Entry fees cover race organization costs, including timing chips, results tracking, marshals, first aid support, and more. Solo runners' results contribute towards UTMB points. Participants must be 18 years or older; under-18s can apply through a specific request on the website.
