Embark on an exhilarating journey through South Devon's stunning landscapes with the Dart Deliverance Challenge, scheduled for Saturday, November 7th, 2026. This multi-distance race offers runners three options: a challenging 50k loop, a scenic marathon route, and a picturesque half marathon course. The 50K begins in Kingswear, where participants will tackle a rigorous 5-mile circuit along the South West Coast Path before merging with the Marathon route for an additional challenge. This trek features rugged coastal paths and sweeping views of the ocean, making it both physically demanding and visually rewarding. For those seeking a full marathon experience, the Marathon starts in Kingswear as well, weaving through Hoodown and Longwood on winding trails that lead to Galmpton Creek. The route then takes runners along tranquil country lanes to Stoke Gabriel before returning via Fleet Mill to Totnes, where it connects with the Half Marathon course. The Half Marathon, starting at Longmarsh in Totnes, offers a more compact yet equally captivating experience. Runners will follow the river upstream over Vire Bridge and back down through charming villages like Tuckenhay, Cornworthy, and Dittisham before crossing the finish line in Dartmouth. All routes are marked with clear signage and supported by dedicated marshals at key points to ensure a smooth race day experience. Aid stations provide essential hydration and nutrition along the way: 5 for the 50k route, 4 for the marathon, and 2 for the half marathon. Elevation profiles vary significantly across distances—approximately 2,200 feet of ascent in the Half Marathon, around 4,000 feet in the Marathon, and a challenging 4,700 feet climb in the 50k. Each course is designed to test endurance while showcasing South Devon's natural beauty. Participants will receive a custom "Dart Deliverance" medal upon completion of their chosen distance, along with a delicious cupcake celebrating their achievement. Parking options include ferry services from Dartmouth to Kingswear for both the Marathon and 50k runners, ensuring convenient access at the finish line. For Half Marathon participants, an optional coach transfer will be available between Dartmouth and Totnes. This is a cupless event, requiring all competitors to bring their own hydration solutions—water bottles or cups—to minimize environmental impact. Mandatory kit includes a mobile phone with emergency contact numbers, waterproof jacket, map of the route (either printed or digital), and sufficient water capacity at the start. Entry fees are as follows: - Half Marathon: £38 for affiliated runners; £40 for unaffiliated - Marathon: £43 for affiliated runners; £45 for unaffiliated - 50k: £48 for affiliated runners; £50 for unaffiliated All participants must be at least 18 years old to compete in the Half Marathon and Marathon, while those taking on the 50K should be over 21. Join us as we celebrate the beauty of South Devon's coastline and countryside through this unique challenge.
