Dark Dart Dash

The Dark Dart Dash returns after several years on the calendar, bringing with it an exciting blend of adventure and community spirit. Organized for the first time back in December 2014, this race has evolved into a beloved local tradition that now includes not only runners but also four-legged friends.
Participants can choose from two main races: a challenging 10K course and a more manageable 5K option, both of which wind through varied terrain. The longer route features a mix of gravel paths, grassy fields, short stretches of tarmac, and plenty of mud to keep things interesting. For those looking for something shorter but no less engaging, the 5K offers similar challenges on a single lap.
In addition to these adult races, there are special events designed just for kids aged 3-11. The younger ones can participate in a fun 1K race while slightly older children have the option of tackling a more demanding 2K course. Parents are welcome to run alongside their little racers at no extra cost.
For those who want to bring their canine companions along, there's also an exciting addition this year: canicross races that start shortly after the main events conclude. This allows both people and pets to enjoy the thrill of racing together under starlit skies.
Registration for all these thrilling options will take place at the Green Table Cafe, which is not only a convenient starting point but also offers excellent post-race sustenance with its pizzas, hot drinks, and bar service. The cafe’s support helps ensure that everyone can unwind after crossing the finish line.
Proceeds from this event are going towards funding a new playground for Dartington Hall's children, making your participation even more meaningful as you contribute to creating joy in the community.
To make the most of this unique experience, it is recommended that runners bring head or chest torches and wear trail shoes suitable for muddy conditions. The race organizers have ensured comprehensive support with professional RFID chip timing, fully marked routes, marshalling along the way, and stunning finisher medals for all participants.
Once you've completed your run, enjoy a complimentary beer or hot drink at the Green Table Cafe while soaking up the atmosphere. Prizes are awarded to podium placers in various categories, adding an extra layer of excitement. Throughout the race day, water stations will be available along the routes and event facilities including toilets and free parking will make everything more convenient.
