Chicken Run Fell Race 2027

Set against the stunning backdrop of Derbyshire's Peak District, Chicken Run 2027 invites runners to tackle its challenging terrain on March 13, 2027. The race starts at Hayfield Primary School and winds through rugged landscapes with a total distance of 13.98km, featuring an elevation gain of 433 meters. Participants will experience the thrill of navigating steep ascents and descents while enjoying panoramic views of rolling hills and verdant valleys.
The course is known for its technical sections that demand both agility and endurance, making it a favorite among fell runners seeking a true test of skill and determination. Spectators are welcome to cheer on participants at various points along the route, adding an extra layer of excitement and support. The event also includes refreshments and toilet facilities available at Hayfield Primary School.
All funds raised from parking donations and sales of safety pins will benefit Kinder Mountain Rescue, while proceeds from the race itself go directly to supporting the school’s Parent Teacher Association (PTA). This year's Chicken Run is committed to sustainability by being plastic-free; runners are encouraged to bring their own reusable water bottles. The event promises a day filled with homemade cakes and refreshments as part of Hayfield Primary School’s Easter Extravaganza, making it an enjoyable experience for the entire family.
Registration opens at 9am on race day, and parking is available nearby with suggested donations going towards local rescue efforts. No dogs are permitted to run alongside participants or enter school grounds during the event.
